Okay apparently I am the worst blogger ever.  Please forgive the delay in getting another post up.  I think I just lived through the quickest 3 weeks of my life.

Anyway.  How is everyone.  Good?  Firey? Nervous? Happy?  Well I am just flat-out excited.  I have a serious commitment coming up: what they refer to as a 'super-dedicated driver' for the Democratic National Convention.  Yes, it's in Denver this year if you didn't already see the promo for my hometown making yet another national spotlight appearance to host the "Greenest Convention to date" (the words of our mayor, John Hickenlooper).  So what does a super-dedicated driver do exactly?  Well, first of all, I have a car.

And to tanget for just a moment, I am going to tell you what kind of car: A Yukon.  So for the greenie that I am, I was horrified to learn of my week long gas-guzzling sidekick.  And when I test drove this Yukon, I should have been happy to see the 'Hybrid' label, right? (here is where the tangent comes in):  What in the world was GMC thinking when they came up with a car that gets 20 mpg instead of 14 mpg and were actually congratulating themselves for it?!?!  This is what I call "envy green".  Meaning that they (and I am not just referring to GMC) are making products that seem green to the misinformed public, but are actually just a marketing scheme to relfect their half-ass attempt at making a product that makes a difference.  OK...I am done.

During the week of the DNC, I am assigned a VIP (read: VERY Important Person -ha) which I load up in my heavily tinted black Yukon Hybrid and haul around to wherever this person may want to go.  No, I don't know who this person is yet.  But believe me I am praying they 1) have good taste in music 2) are cool 3) give me credentials to dnc events 4) have a good sense of humor 5) invite me to sit in the VIP section at the Pepsi Center on Thursday night to hear Obama accept his nomination.  Wait...never mind.  I am talking about a politian here.
